Hi, in the last weeks Charlyn and me have setup a selfhosted videoconference system called "Jitsi Meet" which is part of our new matrix chatserver. After some test videomeetings with 12-15 persons we where able to fix some last problems and can now say we have a stable solution. Thanks to the xmidteam which is using Jitsi since some weeks so we could see the existing Problems that we fixed now. Every employee can use Jitsi with the link https://jitsi.traso.de. Just type in your preferred name for the videocall room or just use one of the autogenerated ones. After that just klick "i am the host" and login with your LDAP(IPA) credentials. Only employees are allowed to create rooms but after authentication via LDAP you are able to share the link for external Persons like Cusomers or Partners it is also possible to set a password by clicking the info button ( i ) in the bottom right corner which is recommended for security reasons if you invite external Persons. At the moment Jitsi can handle 35 persons per room due to software limitations but they are currently working on 100 per room. It is also recommended to use Google Chrome for best compatibility(Screensharing) but Firefox or any other is also working for this, on every Browser you have to allow access to your microphone and camera(if available), most Browsers asking for that. It turned out that it helps to turn off camera in big meetings and turn it on just if needed for best expierience for each client PC, this will happen at the moment automatically if the 10th person is joining into a room. A wednesday session in the office is also possible to explain the usage and features of jitsi like Screensharing. have a nice Weekend Denny
